You can add Reddit to your MacBook Pro Touch Bar

If you could do anything with the MacBook Pro Touch Bar, what tools would you create?

Thanks to a little help from BetterTouchTool by Andreas Hegenberg, you can do a whole lot more with the Touch Bar on the 2016 MacBook Pro than you could imagine. Certainly more than anything Apple expected developers to be allowed to do.

One MacBook Pro owner and Reddit enthusiast used BetterTouchTool to create a Reddit interface that allows you to access subReddit subscriptions and RSS feeds. It’s basically a quick link to specific Safari pages but organized through Reddit’s channels.

That’s the great thing about BetterTouchTool. You can do practically everything with it. You can quick link to a variety of subReddits, open a new Note with just a tap, and switch between Slack chat rooms. It’s simple to download and set up and has dozens of useful pre-made templates.

If you want to create your own Reddit Touch Bar interface, you can download and install BetterTouchTool and follow the template st…

How to clean your iPhone’s charging port

How do fix charging problems with your IPhone? Try cleaning the Lightning in 30-pin Dock connector port!

There are a number of reasons why your iPhone might be having issues with charging. We’ve got a comprehensive guide to how to troubleshoot charging problems. You might have a bad cable or need to restore your software. You might even need to replace your charging port. Sometimes, though, the only problem with your charging port is that it is hella dirty.

My experience: My significant other was having trouble getting his iPhone to charge properly. It would charge or uncharge randomly, and sometimes not at all. After determining that the issue was not a faulty cable. We went straight for the cleaning supplies.

His port was really packed with pocket lint. It had gathered dirt and debris over time, and he would push it against the back of the port every time he plugged in his charging cable. Eventually, there was a small wall of dirt that kept the charging cable from properly engag…

Instagram introduces Collections aka the newest feature for your saved posts

What are Collections and how the heck do they work?

Instagram:

Starting this week, you can save posts into private collections.

Last year in December, Instagram introduced a feature that allowed users to save posts so they could view them at a later time.

This tool was great if you were one of those people who constantly screenshotted everything they wanted to remember, or tagged yourself in the comments in order to get the notification to remind you to go back and view the post, and nearly 46 per cent of Instagrammers have saved at least one post since this feature rolled out.

Today, Instagram announced something called Collections, a feature that lets users sort any IG post they’ve bookmarked into different categories for easy viewing & organizing!

How does it work?

After you save an Instagram photo or video that you’d like to revisit, you get a prompt that asks you if you want to add it to a previously made Collection, or if you want to create a new Collection a…

Nintendo Switch Emulators aren’t real, and will mess up your computer

Don’t try to install a Nintendo Switch emulator.

In much the same way some people will opt to play Nintendo Switch games on a computer instead of the console if it saves a little cash, there exists some people willing to disguise malware as Switch emulation software if it makes them a little cash. That’s right, if you see something claiming to be a Nintendo Switch emulator you should really think twice before installing it. Switch emulators aren’t a real thing, and installing that software is a really great way to turn your computer into a malware farm.

Scammers are taking advantage of a video floating around showing off Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 4K as evidence of Switch emulation, but that’s not the case. What you see in that video is an unfinished version of the Wii U port for Breath of the Wild running on a PC. It is currently possible to do this yourself, but the game isn’t 100% polished and may break in some areas. More importantly, it’s not the Switch version of …
