Seven tips to help you build a badass deck in The Elder Scrolls: Legends

Harness the power of your cards with these great deck building tips!

The key to winning in The Elder Scrolls: Legends is building a strong deck capable of causing mayhem for your opponents, and reacting to the spells, creatures, and other abilities they attempt to throw your way.

While there are a plethora of different strategies, card combinations, and play styles you can experiment with, there are some basic tips that will help you build strong and consistent decks repeatedly.

Don’t build a one-color deck

Seriously? Yes, seriously! One-color decks just don’t give you enough variety in mechanics or strategy to go up against a worthy opponent. It will limit the abilities available to you, meaning it’s too easy to get stuck in a loop of repeating the same play each turn. Any opponent worth their salt will easily be able to identify your tactics and modify their play to counter them.

On top of being limiting, having enough cards in one color to build a deck is extremely difficul…

These are the cheapest data plans you can buy in the U.S.

Have a carrier in mind or just looking for a cheap plan? Here are the cheapest plans you can get from every one.

All prices valid as of April 6, 2017

If you’re hellbent on saving money on your wireless plan, then you have to get away from the Big Four carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon). Smaller carriers, called mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) or alternative carriers, lease coverage from the larger networks and resell it for less.

That being said, depending on your usage and needs, a plan from one of the Big Four might actually be your least expensive option. Here we go.

Vertu Constellation hands-on: The $6000 smartphone

If you’re here, then you already know: good phones aren’t cheap. The flagship phones from the big manufacturers can easily run you $700 or more. Many would consider it a luxury to have one. Then there’s the Vertu Constellation. Luxury doesn’t even begin to describe what this phone is aiming for, and it all starts with a $6,000 price tag.

I’m Michael Fisher, aka the High Duke Baron Chancellor Von MrMobile, and no, I can’t afford this phone. But honestly, there’s few things about this phone that would make me want to (though that Concierge service has its perks …). Hit up that video above, and watch me take a spin through how the other half lives. And if you’re seriously considering this phone, and want to know more about it, check out Android Central’s review here. Also, I’m available to discuss it over the phone (for a moderate hourly rate), or in person if you’re willing to send your private jet.

Why f.lux is better than Night Shift on Mac (for now)

Apple’s Night Shift for Mac is a great first attempt, but it doesn’t hold a candle to f.lux.

I’ve been using f.lux for nearly as long as it’s been in existence. I get up before the sun rises and used to feel blinded by how bright my screen was while the rest of the house was still dark. A friend turned me on to f.lux, and I’ve had it installed on all of my Mac computers ever since.

I’ve been using Night Shift for Mac for about two weeks and I’m less than impressed with Apple’s version of the screen dimming software program. Maybe it’s because I’m so accustomed to f.lux. Maybe it’s because I was hoping Apple would do more with Night Shift on Mac than it did on iOS. It’s a solid program that works perfectly, every time. But it’s lacking some features that I find invaluable on Mac.

Customization on Night Shift for Mac is scant

On my iPhone, I absolutely love Night Shift. I set it up when it first launched and haven’t had to think about it for a single second since then. On the Mac…

Jay Z’s solo catalog removed from Spotify [Updated]

Update April 10, 2017: Well that was quick. It looks like Jay Z’s catalog has returned to Apple Music, though it still seems to be absent from Spotify.

It seems that rapper Jay Z, also known as Shawn Carter, has removed most of his work from Apple Music and Spotify. All of the artist’s solo work seems to have disappeared from the services, with only collaborations with other artists still available. It should be noted that Jay Z is a co-owner of Tidal, a competitor to both Apple Music and Spotify.

As noted by MacRumors, there has been no definitive explanation given for the removal at this time:

Jay Z co-owns Tidal, a rival streaming music service, so his decision to remove his discography from Apple Music could be for competitive reasons. Kanye West, another stakeholder in Tidal, also implied that there might be some animosity between Apple and Jay Z in a series of tweets last year.

Jay Z’s albums appear to have been removed from Spotify recently as well, however, so his …

How to play SteamVR games with your iPhone

Turn your iPhone into a real VR experience.

Using your iPhone to enjoy VR experiences from the App Store isn’t a new trick, though it is a lot of fun. While there are some nice apps to enjoy inside a Google Cardboard headset with your phone, most of the truly great VR experiences live on a computer. More specifically, inside SteamVR on Windows, at least until Apple works its way up to supporting VR. The cool thing about SteamVR is how well it handles using just about anything as a VR headset. While a lot of the experiences are built with the HTC Vive in mind, a little bit of clever software on your phone can take the place of a full VR headset so you can check out all of the fun.

Here’s a quick guide for using your iPhone as a Steam VR headset.
