With Amazon’s Alexa assistant and support for HomeKit built-in, along with satellite sensors that detect not only the temperatures of different rooms but the people in them, the ecobee SmartThermostat is a great all-around smart thermostat. We just wish it was smarter and used batteries for backup power.

Gamers are loving Luigi’s Mansion 3’s single player and multiplayer modes

A delightful entry in the Luigi’s Mansion series that brings plenty of multiplayer options along with it.

It’s been a stellar year for the Nintendo Switch, seeing as how several highly-rated exclusives have released on the console within the last few months. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is adding to Nintendo’s glowing stack of praiseworthy games with its gorgeous visuals and light-hearted spooks. This is only the third Luigi’s Mansion game to release in the last 20 years, with the sequel, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, having released roughly six years ago. Fans, myself included, have desperately been waiting for the third game’s arrival, and so far, it seems the wait has been worth it.

When I last jumped on Metacritic, I saw that several professional critics have given the game mostly favorable scores while user reviews have been overwhelmingly positive resulting in a Metascore of 86. Not too shabby.

One analyst is worried about a falling iPhone average selling price

What you need to know

Apple announced its 2019 Q4 earnings yesterday, but not everyone is happy.
One analyst is concerned about Apple’s falling iPhone ASP.
It’s likely any fall is due to iPhone 11.
Cheaper iPhones are good for us. Bad for analysts.

Despite Apple’s largely promising earnings call yesterday, not everyone is happy. Barclays analyst Tim Long is concerned that Apple’s iPhone average selling price (ASP) is slipping.

In a note to clients picked up by CNBC (via Cult of Mac) Long says that while iPhone revenues were where they were expected to be, ASPs are ”weaker.”

”IPhone revenues were in-line, but we believe ASPs [average selling prices] were weaker,” Barclays IT hardware analyst Tim Long said in a note to clients Thursday. The note was titled, ”Services Strength Masks ASP Pressure.”

Overall iPhone revenue for the quarter sat at $33.6 billion against an estimate of $32.42 billion, but that isn’t enough for Long. Instead, he’s concerned that iPhone ASP will fall 10…

Get the party going with these amazing Halloween playlists

Looking for some tunes to add the perfect touch to your All Hallow’s Eve get-together? Here are some playlists that will turn your humdrum house party into a full-on monster mash.

Spotify

HALLOWEEN: A Trick Or Treat Mix: This playlist strikes a perfect balance between groovy scores from 70s and 80s horror films and more modern artists like Symmetry, MGMT, and Kavinsky. It’s haunting, lullabye-esque, and a bit psychedelic — think wearing a retro cocktail dress at an art school Halloween party, hosted by the girl whose apartment is lit exclusively by neon.
Halloween: This is the Halloween playlist middle school me would make. It’s moody and melodramatic, and features soundtrack hits from movies like Nightmare Before Christmas and Sucker Punch, as well as original songs from Deftones, Melanie Martinez, Depeche Mode, and more. Plus, it starts out with a beautiful version of Sarah Sanderson’s ”Come Little Children” from the best Halloween movie of all time, Hocus Pocus.
Headbange…

According to AdWeek, Apple and its creative agency got the ball rolling by putting 17 ads in place. And then it went back and added the important bits after the product had been announced.

Apple and creative agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab revealed the AirPods Pro through a two-phase outdoor campaign.
