The iPad certainly grew up to be its own viable gaming machine

On January 27, 2010, in San Francisco, Steve Jobs made the announcement for a revolutionary new product called the iPad. This was before tablets were mainstream, and many people (myself included) were thinking, do we really need a big giant iPod touch/iPhone?

But boy, the iPad is so much more useful than that. It was a way for us to get some work done in a more portable fashion than lugging around a heavier laptop, or watch some movies or read a book, and of course, play some games in our spare time.

It’s been 10 years since the iPad first hit the market, and it’s amazing how much the gaming scene has changed since then.

The evolution of gaming on the iPad

When the iPad first came out, the App Store had only been around for two years. The games in the App Store had separate downloads for the iPhone and iPad (before universal apps were a thing), even though the iPad versions usually were the same thing as the iPhone, but…bigger. Yes, it was easier to see everything happening o…

Let’s celebrate a decade of iPad with the best future designs and memes

Apple iPad fans have some ideas on where the popular tablet line should go as it begins its second decade.

On January 27, 2010, the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the first iPad. The tablet, which Jobs called ”so much more intimate than a laptop,” would arrive on the market a few months later. As the iPad begins its second decade, folks have a lot of ideas where the tablet should go from here.

The more interesting concepts are highlighted here!

The Next iPad?

iPad Pro 2020

The fourth-generation iPad Pro is probably the next one to get released. In late 2019, the folks over at OnLeaks and iGeeksblog published renders suggesting the next Pro tablets will include a three-camera system similar to the one on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Apple hasn’t refreshed its iPad Pro lineup for over a year. If these renders look anything like the real deal, get ready for one awesome tablet lineup for the new decade!

Be transparent, Apple

Cupertino loves to talk about tra…

How the last 10 years have (and haven’t) changed the iPad

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

As the iPad enters into its second decade, it’s fun to look back and see how far it’s come. In many ways, it’s not the same device that Steve Jobs demoed back in January 2010. In others, though, it still is that device, for better or worse.

What’s changed

The size

For almost the entire first decade of its life, no matter what other iPads Apple sold, from mini, to Air, to Pro, you could pick up a brand new iPad with a 9.7-inch display. But with the release of the 2019 10.2-inch iPad, the 9.7-inch display is now relegated to Apple’s refurbished store, with no new iPads being sold in that size.

Along the way, Apple has introduced more iPads of varying sizes. There’s the 7.9 inches of the iPad mini, the 12.9 inches of the large iPad Pro, and multiple other sizes in between. It seems likely that at the time, 9.7-inches felt like the right size for the iPad’s screen. It’s interesting that it’s essentially vanished from the lineup …

Analyst expects Apple to build 6 million iPhone 9 units by the end of March

What you need to know

Cohen analyst Krish Sankar expects 46 million iPhones to be built in Q1.
Of that number, it’s expected that 6 million will be the new iPhone 9.
The phone will reportedly sell for $475.

They’ll be needed if a launch is imminent.

Apple will build 46 million iPhones in the first quarter of calendar year 2020 according to a new analyst report. Cohen’s Krish Sankar believes that of those 46 million, around six million will be the unannounced iPhone SE replacement.

Whether it’s called iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2, rumors of a new low-cost iPhone simply refuse to go away. Sankar seems convinced that it will arrive soon, saying in a research note – seen by Apple Insider – that 6 million will be ready for sale before the end of March.

Sanker also goes on to say that the phone is expected to sell for around $475 if and when it hits stores. We’ve seen rumors of an announcement in March, so we’d expect manufacturing to be getting well underway in the coming weeks. A $…

Yes, your Animal Crossing amiibo toys and cards will work in New Horizons

Best Answer: Yes, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have support for Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards, which was confirmed by the developers Aya Kyogoku and Higashi Nogami in a French interview on GameKult.

A remote paradise: Animal Crossing: New Horizons ($60 at Amazon)

How will amiibo work in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

The developers weren’t ready to share that information just yet from the GameKult interview. All they have stated is that the game will have amiibo support.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, using amiibo would summon animal villagers to visit your town (figure) or move into your town (cards), as long as there is space available for them to do so. Since they did not explicitly state what amiibo will do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it could have the same functionality as New Leaf, or be completely different. We won’t know for sure until more information is released.

So there are both amiibo figures and cards for Animal Crossing?

That’s correct. Fo…
