These are the most memorable iPad ads over the past 10 years

Time flies when you’re having fun — here are the most iconic iPad ads over the past decade.

Over the past ten years, the iPad has had many iterations. From the very first iPad, which launched on April 3, 2010, to the newest iPad Pro, every iPad has had something in common — they’ve all had commercials.

While ads are often seen as the stupid things you skip after five seconds on YouTube, ads are an important part of a product’s life cycle. Apple has made some iconic ads for its iPads over the years, so sit back and take a rocket ship ride over the past decade to check out some of the most significant iPad ads to grace our screens over the years.

iPad (1st generation)

The very first iPad ad had a really simple formula that we had seen Apple use many times before. It aired in the middle of the 82nd Academy Awards, proving that Apple wanted lots of eyes on its latest product.

In the coming months, they came out with a few different spots for the iPad that had the iconic ”Wha…

Apple’s latest patent shows an all-glass iMac

What you need to know

A new patent shows an iMac-like computer that’s a single piece of glass.
A keyboard and trackpad could be part of the unit.
There’s even provision for docking a MacBook.

Imagine how dusty that thing would get.

Apple patents pretty much anything and everything its engineers come up with and its latest shows what seems to be an iMac-like computer that’s made from a single piece of glass.

First picked up by Patently Apple, the patent shows a device that appears to be constructed from one curved piece of glass. The lower part of the glass would house a keyboard, while the top would be the display.

An electronic device may include a glass housing member that includes an upper portion defining a display area, a lower portion defining an input area, and a transition portion joining the upper portion and the lower portion and defining a continuous, curved surface between the upper portion and the lower portion. The electronic device may include a display cou…

The Secret Origins of the iPad

Not just a big iPhone but an iPhone gone IMAX, the original iPad was a big, approachable window to apps and the web and exactly the table the mainstream had been waiting for.

10-years ago today, Steve Jobs announced ”a third category of device in the middle, something that’s between a laptop and a smartphone.” Something that had to be better as browsing, email, photos, video, music, gaming, and eBooks. Something that had to be… the iPad.

On January 27, 2010, Steve Jobs took the stage at an Apple special event to give what was, once again, one of the most important keynotes of his life and the history of consumer electronics. The Mac had been introduced decades before, the iPhone only a few years, but now Jobs would make the argument for a third category of device.

The company had been working on it since even before the Purple Experience Project — PEP — had coalesced into the original iPhone. It had gone from a device that could go anywhere to being put on a shelf while Ap…

iPadOS 13 made moving your DSLR photos to your iPad a snap

Importing photos to your iPad or older iPad Pro is a great way to work on them on the go, but you’ll need some additional hardware.

If you love taking photos on a standalone camera, like a DSLR or mirrorless camera, rather than on your iPhone, one of the major frustration points has always been getting the photos from your camera onto a device for editing and storage. This could be particularly annoying if you’re trying to do this with an iOS device like an iPad, where you’ll need one of a couple of adapters to even get started.

Unlike the 2018 iPad Pro models, previous versions of the iPad, both standard and Pro, mostly utilize Apple’s proprietary Lightning port, so other devices can’t just transfer data to them out of the box. The good news is that the adapters will also work with your iPhone because they just connect to the Lightning port on either device.

If you have a 2018 iPad Pro, you guide to transferring photos from your standalone camera is right here.

How to upload and…
