Show off your pictures with a smart digital photo frame

Displaying photos of family and friends or snapshots of your pets is the easiest way to personalize your living space. The trouble is, traditional photo frames take up scads of room. You’ve upgraded from a flip phone to a smartphone and maybe from a desktop to a laptop, right? Why not step up from old fashioned photo frames to digital too? I’ve handpicked a few of my favorite digital photo frames and can’t wait to share them with you.

A smart frame

Nixplay Seed

Staff Favorite

Some products billed as smart are lacking intelligence. That’s not the case with the Nixplay Seed. This 10-inch digital photo frame has an infrared sensor that detects when someone walks into the room. It automatically turns on when eyes are present and off when no one is around. Talk about energy saving! The 10.1-inch IPS display is stunning. Colors are accurate, and images are clearer than any print. You can email photos to the frame for instant viewing from anywhere in the world. That feature alone ma…

How to prepare your Pokémon for the Pokémon Go Battle League

Now that the Pokémon Go Battle League is here, you may be wondering how to build a strong and versatile team. Here’s how!

The Pokémon Go Battle League is here! The first preseason has begun but it’s not too late to build your roster to join in on the fun!

Which Pokémon should you focus on catching and powering up?

Which Pokémon are the best in Pokémon Go? There are more than 800 Pokémon out there and, though they’ve not all made it to Pokémon Go, more are being added all the time. So, even seasoned players can find themselves struggling to answer this question. Each new Pokémon, move, or rebalance to come to the game has the potential to be a game-changer (or to not matter at all!). Lucky for you, we’ve done the work in our own labs and are constantly updating our lists with each addition and alteration to the game.

While CP, IVs, and moves are all important in determining the value of a Pokémon in battle, some species of Pokémon are just better at their base. After a…

Apple may have tied or beaten Samsung for Q4 smartphone sales

Without Apple’s own sales numbers, predicting smartphone sales is a tricky business.

What you need to know

Several analysts have taken a stab at the Q4 2019 smartphone sales numbers.
There is a suggestion that Apple has equaled Samsung smartphone sales, and maybe even passed it.
The consensus seems to be that there is now nothing to separate the two.

Reports on smartphone sales in Q4 2019 suggest that the gap between Apple and Samsung is now closer than ever.

Several outlets have published estimates regarding smartphone shipments for the last quarter, and whilst there is variation, the overall figures seem to suggest that the margin between Apple and Samsung has closed significantly.

According to Bloomberg:

Industry trackers on Thursday released estimates that show the iPhone maker close to matching or surpassing its Korean rival in shipments during the pivotal holiday quarter. Strategy Analytics put Apple’s iPhone shipments for the fourth quarter at 70.7 million, slightly…

When will Temtem come to Nintendo Switch?

Best Answer: Barring any delays, Temtem will come to Nintendo Switch in May 2020. There are currently no plans to create a physical copy, so it will be digital download only. If you’re too excited to wait, the Beta version of the game is currently available for purchase to everyone on Steam.

Gotta catch Tem all!: Temtem ($35 at GMG (PC))

What is Temtem?

Temtem is a creature-collection RPG similar to the core Pokémon games. The biggest difference is that Temtem is an MMO. The game boasts 141 Temtem and a vibrant world filled with mechanics similar to what’s in Game Freak’s popular franchise. Players run around an Archipelago catching Temtem, battling other tamers, and defeating Dojo masters to become the ultimate tamer. If you’ve ever played a Pokémon game, this should sound pretty familiar.

Temtem showed up on Kickstarter in 2017 and quickly gained support from thousands of backers, so much so that the developers are planning to eventually bring Temtem to Nintendo Switch.

Manhattan DA says Apple has iPhone backdoor because they send him messages

What you need to know

Manhattan DA Cy Vance Jr. is skeptical Apple can’t access iPhones.
His reasoning? They can send him messages.
Oh, and update iOS, too.

When people in power just don’t get it.

We told you last week about a new iPhone-cracking lab that had been set up in Manhattan thanks to the work of District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. But everyone missed one wonderful little tidbit from the original Fast Company article. Everyone except Matt Lunkey on Twitter.

See, he spotted a quote that I must confess completely passed me by. And now I can’t stop thinking about it. The quote?

Apple argues that it is protecting our privacy by ensuring that no one—not even Apple—can gain access to our most intimate personal data. Vance is skeptical that Apple doesn’t have a secret backdoor. ”They get into my phone all the time because they upgrade my operating systems and they send me messages,” he says.

Go ahead and read that again. I’ll wait right here.

So here we are, with one of…
