Valentine's Day is either one of your favorite holidays or your absolute least favorite. If you're one of those people who hates this mushy time of the year or if you haven't been lucky in love recently, you'll be looking for all sorts of ways to try to forget it's happening. Here is a list of Nintendo Switch games to play to forget that it's Valentine's Day.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is the perfect culmination of ghost-catching mayhem for the series and will have you laughing at silly cartoon antics. I mean, running through a haunted hotel, fighting spooky bosses, and solving puzzles are sure to block out the fact that it's singles awareness day.

Become a professor at the Garreg Mach Monastery and then decide which class of students you're going to mentor. Soon enough, growing political tensions will force you to make some difficult decisions. This game requires some strategic thinking and offers plenty of replay value to distract you from Valentine's Day.

Pokémon Sword and Shield
Whether you choose Sword or Shield, the Galar region will keep you distracted by letting you discover new Pokémon and take on various gym leaders. If nothing else, you can spend hours jumping into online Max Raid Battles in the hopes of catching high-level Gigantamax Pokémon.

Nothing helps you forget about love (or the lack thereof) like a good horror game. You investigate the studio of a painter who has succumbed to madness. Can you figure out what became of him? Beware, things aren't as they seem, and your environment can change with just a slight move of the camera.

Take out your dating frustrations by playing as an ornery goose. You'll run around a small village stealing people's belongings and messing with their day. It's sure to relieve tensions and, if nothing else, make you chuckle to yourself as you do yet another devious deed.

If you aren't getting anywhere with your love life, at least you can get somewhere in a Mario side scroller. If you have a Nintendo Switch online account, you can dive into other player's creations or create dastardly courses of your own that require perfect precision to complete.

If you're a big soccer fan, then you've probably owned all of the other FIFA games. You can play as your favorite soccer team on your own or online with other people who share your love for soccer. You can go through as some of your favorite players and unlock them on your way through the Career mode.
Better than dating
Valentine's Day is not everyone's favorite holiday, especially if you're a lonely heart on this day or if you've had a spat with your significant other. If you're looking for a way to forget the day even exists, we know the perfect games to play to forget all about it.
The game I recommend most is Luigi's Mansion 3. It's hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable, so it's sure to distract you from your dating woes. Plus, if you happen to have a friend over, you can play the main storyline in co-op. Of if you're having a single's awareness party, you can all play one of the multiplayer games.
If you're looking for something else, you should seriously consider The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I've put well over 100 hours into this game, and I'm still discovering new things that I can do. If nothing else, you can take in the beauty of the impressive open world of Hyrule. You'll get so sucked into it that you won't be able to think about your dating life. And if things just really aren't going well for you right now, you can light everything in Hyrule on fire to vent your frustrations.
