Honda’s first vehicle with CarPlay will be the 2016 Honda Accord

At an event in Silicon Valley today, Honda revealed that the 2016 Honda Accord will be the first of its models to sport CarPlay, bringing the connected platform to both sedan and coupe models of the car. From Bloomberg:

Honda Motor Co. unveiled a refreshed Accord at the opening of its expanded Silicon Valley Lab. For the 2016 model year, the midsize sedan and coupe will add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

While the 2016 Accord is will be the first Honda model with CarPlay out of the gate, Honda will presumably move to include support in future models as well — though it's unclear when we'll see that happen. This is certainly a great step forward for CarPlay, as it continues to expand to vehicles from even more manufacturers, allowing buyers to experience even greater integration with the media and services on their iPhone.
