Twitter for Mac, Tweetbot score support for 10,000-character direct messages

Twitter has updated its official Mac app with support for the longer, 10,000-character direct messages. Additionally, popular third-party Twitter client Tweetbot has also added the feature, along with Retina display performance improvements.

Previously, Twitter held direct messages to the same 140-character limit they place on standard tweets and replies. The company removed the limit from direct messages last week.
