Live Photos to be included with iPhone 6s and 6s Plus

During Apple's press event in San Francisco, the company showed off a new image feature called Live Photos for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The app plays back a full resolution photo, with the user pressing on the image to get a short video and sound playback, via frame-to-frame compressed videos.
Users can wipe across images in their photoroll to create movement in their Live Photos. Indeed, all photos on the new phones can be live photos if the user wishes, or they can disable the app if they want. The playback goes 1.5 seconds on either side of the photo. Live Photos have 12MP with an efficient "frame-to-frame" compression.
Live Photos can also play back in all Photos apps and they can also run in an Apple Watch photo face. Apple will release developer APIs for Live Photos, and the official Facebook app will support Live Photos later this year.
