Flyover coverage in Maps expands to new locations in France, Germany, Italy and more

Apple is continually adding new locales to its 3D Flyover feature for its in-house Maps solution, with 19 new locations added to the list today.

For the uninitiated, Flyover is a feature in Maps that offers high-resolution imagery interspersed with 3D models of notable landmarks and features in a particular location. Guided Flyover tours are also available for major cities around the globe, such as New York, Paris and London.

These are the new locations where Flyover is available:

  • Angers, France
  • Carcassonne, France
  • Florence, Italy
  • Genoa, Italy
  • Gold Coast, Australia
  • Lugo, Spain
  • Mannheim, Germany
  • Mexicali, Mexico
  • Murcia, Spain
  • Nagasaki, Japan
  • Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Parma, Italy
  • Pavia, Italy
  • Sanremo, Italy
  • Shizuoka, Japan
  • St. Louis, Missouri
  • Stuttgart, Germany
  • Tijuana, Mexico

Along with continual improvements to its mapping service, Apple is looking to tackle street-level data with a slew of mapping vehicles.
