Apple announces new Retina 4K iMac, updated 5K iMac, new Magic Keyboard, Mouse, Trackpad

Apple has just announced a new 21.5-inch Retina 4K iMac and an updated 27-inch Retina 5K iMac with better color gamut, Intel Broadwell and Skylake chipsets, a lower priced Fusion Drive options, and new Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2—which Force Touch!—accessories.

The new 21.5-inch Retina 4K iMac starts at $1499 for a 4096 x 2304 display, 3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz), Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200, 8GB of 1867MHz LPDDR3 memory, and 1TB 5400-rpm hard drive. Build-to-order (BTO) options include 3.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz), 16 GB of memory, Fusion Drive from 1 TB to 2 TB, or flash drive from 256 GB to 512 GB.

The updated 27-inch Retina 5K iMac starts at $1799 for a 5120 x 2880, 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz), AMD Radeon R9 M380 with 2GB GDDR5, 8GB (2x4GB) of 1867MHz DDR3 memory, and 1TB 7200-rpm hard drive. Build-to-order (BTO) options max out at 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz), AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4GB GDDR5, 32 GB of memory, 3 TB Fusion Drive, or 1 TB flash drive.

Both come with redesigned and rechargeable—via Lighning-to-USB cable—Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2, with optional Magic Trackpad 2. Separately, Magic Keyboard costs $99, Magic Mouse 2 costs $79 and Magic Trackpad 2 (with Force Touch) costs $129.
