Steve Jobs considered an Apple-built car back in 2008

While Apple is currently said to have had an electric car in the pipeline for the last few years, late Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs was already apparently thinking about it 2008. According to former iPod chief Tony Fadell, though it was never a project, he and Jobs used to discuss what different aspects of an Apple-made car would look like.

From Bloomberg:

"We had a couple of walks," Fadell said in an interview with Bloomberg's Emily Chang. The pair posed hypothetical questions to each other, such as: "If we were to build a car, what would we build? What would a dashboard be? And what would this be? What would seats be? How would you fuel it or power it?"

If recent reports are to be believed, times have changed. Apple is said to be hard at work on an electric vehicle, targeting a launch date of 2019 or 2020. The company has reportedly already taken meetings with the California Department of Motor Vehicles to discuss autonomous vehicles as well.
