Google Maps has finally picked up spoken traffic alerts, bringing it further up to par with its Android cousin. With the new feature, Google Maps will now give you a verbal summary of traffic conditions before you head out the door, along with alerts meant to steer you clear from pesky congestion and holdups. Of course, there's a little more to this update as well, so here's the breakdown:

Spoken traffic alerts in Navigation tell you about congestion and incidents on your route and traffic descriptions give you a summary of traffic before you drive
