Google Maps finally picks up spoken traffic alerts in latest update

Google Maps has finally picked up spoken traffic alerts, bringing it further up to par with its Android cousin. With the new feature, Google Maps will now give you a verbal summary of traffic conditions before you head out the door, along with alerts meant to steer you clear from pesky congestion and holdups. Of course, there's a little more to this update as well, so here's the breakdown:

  • Easily add new and missing businesses from the sidebar
  • Spoken traffic alerts in Navigation tell you about congestion and incidents on your route and traffic descriptions give you a summary of traffic before you drive
  • Bug fixes

So, if you've opted to use Google Maps over the native Apple Maps, you'll now be able to be a little more prepared for your trip while keeping your eyes on the road. To check out the latest update, be sure to hit up the App Store link below.
