Flickr adds 3D Touch support and Spotlight search

Flickr for iPhone and iPad has been updated, adding support for iOS 9, including featues like universal links and Spotlight search. The app also supports 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, both with peek and pop, as well as quick actions on the app icon.

Going beyond standard peek and pop support, Flickr 4.0.6 has added a unique implementation, which allows you to scroll through your photos while peeking at them. Check out all of the changes with this update in the list below.

  • 3D Touch: With a light press, preview photos, people, notifications and more.
  • 3D Touch Extended: In your camera roll, we've added something unique to help you find your best shot. Press a photo to preview, then move your finger left/right to quickly page through neighboring photos. Once you've found your favorite, press harder to Pop full-screen.
  • Spotlight Search: Find your albums, groups and recently-viewed items without opening the app.
  • Universal links: Links you share now open directly in the Flickr app instead of Safari.
  • App Icon Shortcuts: Access common actions from your homescreen by pressing firmly on our icon.

This update also fixes a number of crashes and bugs. You can grab Flickr 4.0.6 from the App Store right now.
