Apple Watch launches in India, prices start at ₹30,900

Indian customers can now purchase the Apple Watch in the country, with three variants — Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition — up for sale. The watch comes pre-installed with watchOS 2 out of the box.

The smartwatch is available in both 38mm and 42mm sizes, and a host of configurations including Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray, silver anodized aluminium; polished silver or Space Black stainless steel, and 18-Carat Rose Gold or Yellow Gold.

The 38mm Apple Watch Sport with Silver Aluminium Case and White Sport Band costs ₹30,900 ($470), while the 42mm variant retails for ₹34,900 ($530). The Stainless Steel Case with White Sport Band is priced at ₹48,900 ($742) and ₹52,900 ($802) for the 38mm and 42mm respectively.

Indian customers can purchase the Stainless Steel Case with the Link Bracelet for ₹95,900 ($1,455), and the Classic Buckle leather band for ₹60,900 ($924). The 38mm 18-Carat Rose Gold model paired with the White Sport Band comes in at ₹8.2 lakhs ($12,448), while the 42mm variant costs ₹9.9 lakhs ($15,029). The costliest offering will set users back a hefty ₹14.2 lakhs ($21,557).

Apple will make standalone bands available for additional customization, although the Hermes collection has not been made available yet.
