Google Wallet will soon let you send and receive money with text messages

An imminent update to Google Wallet will eliminate the need to use an email address when sending money. Users will be able to send money to anyone in their conacts list with a phone number via text message.

When sending money with a text, your contact will receive a secure link. After tapping the link, they can enter their debit card information to claim the money, which will then appear in their bank account in a few short minutes.

The update will be available in the Google Play Store in the coming days.
