Microsoft Translator for iPhone adds offline support

Microsoft has updated its Translator app for the iPhone. The new version allows users to download packages to translate over 40 languages, via text, without the need for the iPhone to be online.

This new feature will likely be very helpful for travellers who sometimes cannot connect to the internet because of high data charges, spotty coverage and other issues. The updated Translator app can also translate text inside web pages using Microsoft's Safari browser extension. This feature can be turned on in the app's settings.
