India can tackle iPhone encryption, says country’s telecom minister

India's telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the country has "implemented solutions" to deal with the "challenges" of encryption in the form of a mobile forensic tool. Apple's encryption battle with the FBI ended with the law enforcement agency consulting a third-party to break into the San Bernardino shooter's iPhone 5c. It looks like the Indian government is also working on tools that will allow it to bypass the encryption on the iPhone.
Prasad did not reveal any additional details over how such a tool might work, only stating that research and development work is being carried out to "upgrade tools and technologies with the emerging new devices and software:"
Smartphones including phones by Apple employ strong encryption to secure the data stored and to protect the communication. Such Encryption technologies pose challenges to Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the world including India.
A tool for Mobile forensics has been developed, which handles smartphones including Apple phones.
The minister denied a proposal with the government to introduce any kinds of backdoors or secure a key for the encryption of the iPhone.
