How to use Shared Links with Safari on iPhone and iPad

Get a custom feed from your favorites sites and social accounts using Shared Links in Safari.

Shared Links let you to make a custom feed right inside the iPhone and iPad's built-in web browser, Safari. You can add social accounts and your favorite websites to your Shared Links tab and get all the content that matters to you in one convenient place.

How to access and use Shared Links with Safari

Each social service or website you frequently visit can be added to your Shared Links list as a "subscription." You can access and view all of your subscriptions in Safari's Shared Links tab, but first, you have to know where to look.

  1. Launch Safari from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap on the Bookmarks button in the bottom right of your browser (looks like a book).
  3. Tap on the Shared Links tab at the top of your screen (looks like an @), if it's not already selected.

How to add a social media account to Shared Links in Safari

Want to be able to view your social feeds in your browser without having to navigate to their site or open an app? Add them to Shared Links.

  1. Launch Safari from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap on the Bookmarks button in the bottom right of your browser (looks like a book).
  3. Tap on the Shared Links tab at the top of your screen (looks like an @), if it's not already selected.

  4. Your installed social media apps that can be added to Shared Links will be displayed at the top. Toggle the switch next to each one you would like to add.
  5. Tap on the Done button in the top right corner.

Depending on the settings you selected when you first installed your social media apps, you may already have information in your Shared Links, even if you didn't specifically add subscriptions. To turn off any subscriptions you don't want, follow those same steps and toggle each switch left.

How to add an RSS subscription to a website to Shared Links

By adding a website as a subscription to Shared Links in Safari, you can quickly view the headlines and stories from that specific site. By adding multiple website subscriptions, you can get a lot of information quickly without having to browse around.

  1. Launch Safari from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad
  2. Navigate to a website you would like to add as a subscription.
  3. Tap on the Bookmarks button in the bottom right of your browser (looks like a book).
  4. Tap on the Shared Links tab at the top of your screen (looks like an @). If the last tab you had open in Bookmarks was Shared Links, you may not have to do this step.

  5. Tap on the subscriptions button on the bottom right.
  6. Tap on the Add Current Site button.
  7. Tap on the Done button in the top right corner.

Repeat this process to add additional websites and fill out your Shared Links feed.

How to delete a subscription from your Shared Links feed.

If there's a social network or website feed you no longer want included in Shared Links, you can easily remove it.

  1. Launch Safari from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap on the Bookmarks button in the bottom right of your browser (looks like a book).
  3. Tap on the Shared Links tab at the top of your screen (looks like an @). If the last tab you had open in Bookmarks was Shared Links, you may not have to do this step.

  4. Tap on the subscriptions button on the bottom right.
  5. Tap on the red delete button next to the feed you want to delete.
  6. Tap on the Delete button.

If you have additional sites you want to remove, follow these same steps until your Shared Links feed is uncluttered.
