There are now 13 million registered Apple developers around the world

Taking the stage at WWDC 2016 today, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that there are now 13 million registered Apple developers around the world. In fact, Cook says that 2 new developers have registered just this year.

Perhaps most impressive is that the youngest developer is just 9 years old. As for WWDC specifically, Cook noted that this year's WWDC is host to 5,000 in-person attendees from 74 countries — 70% of which are attending for the first time. Apple also gave out 350 developer scholarships this year, the recipients of which are in attendance at WWDC 2016.
