Apple is opening up Siri to third-party apps like Uber, Pinterest and more!

On stage at WWDC 2016, Apple dropped a bomb by announcing that it will be opening up Siri to third-party developers. This means that users will be able to use Siri in all new ways, like sending messages with apps like Wechat, Slack and more.

Opening up Siri to outside developers opens up a whole new world of possibilities. In addition to messages, you'll be able to easily use the digital assistant to do things like call an Uber or Lyft, post photos to Pinterest or Shutterfly, or even send payments through Square Cash. In all of this, Siri does the work of the logic and processing, while the app extensions will focus on their jobs.
