A new report claims that Apple CEO Tim Cook is holding a fundraiser for Paul Ryan, the Republican Speaker of the U.S House of Representatives.
Cook will help generate cash for Ryan at a private breakfast on June 28 in Menlo Park, Calif., along with Gary Wipfler, the company's treasurer, according to an invite obtained by POLITICO on Monday. The money benefits not only the speaker but a joint fundraising committee aimed at helping to elect other House Republicans.
The report says that this is a personal fundraiser for Cook, but it adds that this might indicate Apple is willing to help both Republicans and Democrats in the 2016 election. This report comes a couple of days after Politico stated that Apple had decided not to offer money or tech support for the 2016 Republican National Convention. Apple reportedly does not like the views and policies of the Republican's presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump.
