Apple’s first unscripted, app-focused show starts looking for developers

Apple is looking for app developers to participate in its upcoming original video series. Planet of the Apps will focus on the world of app development, and is being produced by will.i.am and Ben Silver. It's being made for Apple platforms, likely including iTunes and the Apple TV.

From the show's studio, Prospect Productions (via MacRumors):

Executive producers will.i.am, Ben Silverman, and Howard Owens are teaming up for an unscripted series about the world of apps and the talented people that drive its innovation. They're looking for developers with the vision to shape the future, solve real problems, and inspire change within our daily lives. "We can really tell their stories as we explore how apps are developed and created and incubated," says Silverman

The producers envision Planet of the Apps as a way for developers to launch their apps as well, offering a number of perks for those that are accepted for the show. These include hands-on mentorship, funding for those that make it to the final round, and, for those that win, featured placement on the App Store at the end of the show.

Those developers interested in participating can apply for a spot on Prospect Productions' website.
