How to unsubscribe from iTunes Match

How do you unsubscribe from Apple's iTunes Match service? You need only tap a few buttons.

With the news that Apple is integrating iTunes Match's DRM-free track-matching functionality for Apple Music subscribers, those subscribed to both services may want to save the $25/year by turning off automatic renewal.

Here's how you go about doing so on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

No longer. Apple is now rolling out the same DRM-free iCloud matching and uploading service for Apple Music subscribers that iTunes Match users have always enjoyed.

How to unsubscribe from iTunes Match on your iPhone or iPad

First, make sure you have a complete local backup of your iTunes library, if you don't already. In theory, your iTunes Match content will automatically switch over to your Apple Music subscription, but better safe than sorry.

  1. Open the iTunes Store app.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap on your Apple ID.
  3. Tap on View Account.

  4. Scroll down to the iTunes in the Cloud section.
  5. Tap the toggle to turn off iTunes Match auto-renewal.

Once your iTunes Match subscription runs out, you'll switch over to Apple Music's identical option.
