How to install macOS Sierra over the Sierra beta seed

macOS Sierra is finally real, and if you're a beta user, you can download the production version right now!

macOS Sierra is now available to all, and if you were a beta user, that mean you can now download the production seed. Even if you have the GM of macOS Sierra, it's entirely possible that officially released version is a couple of numbers ahead of the beta, so if you want the latest and greatest, here's how to hop back on to the production train.

Note: Always make sure you have a backup of your information before attempting any OS X upgrades, for safety's sake.

  1. Launch the Mac App Store from your Dock (or by typing Command-Spacebar to launch Spotlight and then entering in App Store).
  2. Click on the Featured tab.
  3. Click on the macOS banner atop the Featured page. If you don't see this, you can also go to the macOS Sierra link under Quick Links on the right side of the App Store.
  4. Click the Download button underneath the macOS Sierra icon.
  5. Click Continue.

The installer will then proceed to download, and when it launches, you can go ahead and install it.
