How to print and share from Photos

How do you share or print the iPhone or iPad photos you love with people who will love them too? With the share sheet!

Keeping all your pictures and videos in the Photos app is incredibly convenient, but sometimes you just want to share them with others. That's where the Share Sheet comes in!

With it, you can send pictures and videos via AirDrop, iMessage, Mail, iCloud, Twitter, Facebook, and more. You can even use AirPrint to make hard copies of your favorite images. Here's how to get started.

How to share individual photos or videos using Photos on iPhone and iPad

  1. Launch the Photos app from your Home screen.
  2. Tap on the photo or video you'd like to share.
  3. Tap on the Share button in the bottom left corner. It's a square with an upward-pointing arrow.
  4. Tap on the method you'd like to use to share it.

Depending on the method you choose, you might be asked if you want to send the photos at their original size, or scaled down to something smaller that'll use less data bandwidth. You may also be asked to trim the video or enter a description.

Just send the photo or video as you would anything else, depending on your chosen method.

How to share individual photos in iOS 13

  1. Launch Photos on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Find a photo or video that you want to share.

  3. Tap on the Share button in the bottom right.
  4. Select the method that you want to share the photo or video.

In iOS 13, there are now three ways to share: recent contacts, app extensions, and action extensions (the last one now appears as a list rather than a scrollable row).

The first row will be your contacts, and this is populated by your favorite contacts and people you've contacted recently, through Messages, Phone, or FaceTime.

Then you have the row of app extensions (colored app icons) that allow you to share your media directly to an app, whether it's by Apple (Mail, Notes, etc.) or a third-party (Twitter, Facebook, Slack, etc.).

With the action extensions list, you can integrate other apps functions in Photos, or just do things like add to a photo album or set it as the wallpaper.

You can also manage what apps and actions appear in by going to the end of the row or list and tapping Manage.
